Top Essential Oils to Prevent Scalp Conditions

Hair and skin health is an indicator of overall health. It can indicate nutritional deficiencies or can be symptoms of other health conditions. Conditions that affect our skin can affect our scalp too. Dandruff and lice, cradle crap and dermatitis all are common scalp diseases. Medication becomes necessary for very severe symptoms. However, regular use of essential oils for hair and skin from the moment you see symptoms can cure scalp diseases with the least of medical intervention. Both men and women can use the following essential oils if they have any scalp disease.

Juniper Berry
Juniper Berry has high antiseptic, antibacterial and antibacterial properties and can treat skin and scalp conditions. You can also use it as an astringent. It is effective in treating dandruff, oily hair and strengthens brittle hair. Use a few drops of oil directly on the scalp. Massage it into the scalp and wash your hair with a mild organic shampoo or add it to your anti dandruff shampoo and wash as usual.

It is a good defense for dandruff and overall healthy scalp. It removes dandruff and any itching caused by dandruff. Using it early prevents any possible scalp disease. Regular use of tea tree oil also encourages hair growth. The words lice are something that can make our skin crawl. Despite your best efforts, if one in the family is infested, the rest are bound to be infested. Tree oils are very effective against lice. Buy tree tea oil, add a few drops to your regular shampoo and massage it into your scalp and rinse. You can also mix it with a carrier oil like olive oil or coconut oil and rest for 10 minutes so dislodge the lice and then wash it away.

Cedarwood
Cedarwood can soothe itchy skin and is ideal for those with dermatitis. It can also help soothe scalp eczema. It also helps reduce the symptoms of dandruff by preventing flaking. Use a few drops, massage it in your scalp and then wash or mix it with a few drops of your shampoo and rinse.

Rosemary
Rosemary oil is very effective against dandruff and split ends. It works well against itchy and a dry scalp. Massage it directly onto your scalp, wait for some time and rinse. Alternatively, mix it with your shampoo and use it to wash.

Always mix your essential oil to your shampoo just before bath. Squeeze a little shampoo in your hand or a bowl and mix 3 to 4 drops of essential oil. Add a few drops of water so that it can spread easily. Always use organic shampoo and products for the best results. You will start noticing results in a month or so. Do not stop the use of essential oils as ineffective after one or two applications. Do not mix the oil into the shampoo bottle as some oils may not mix and will float on top of the shampoo.
